National Day of Encouragement is celebrated

Take a moment to brighten someone’s day, whether it’s a friend, family member, coworker, or even a stranger. Use words of encouragement to uplift others and yourself in daily life. Some examples for words of encouragement include, “You can do it,” “Keep up the good work,” “Don’t give up,” or “I’m proud of you.”
Jon Bon Jovi praised for talking woman in crisis off the ledge of a Nashville bridge
Security footage from Nashville’s John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge shows Bon Jovi approaching a woman in crisis and helping her to safety from the other side of the railing. The rock musician and his team were setting up for what appears to be a photoshoot when he spotted the woman and did not hesitate to come to her aid. Video footage shows as he speaks with her, assists her to safety, and comforts her with a hug. The singer and his team remained by the woman’s side until authorities arrived on the scene. A representative from Bon Jovi’s team has yet to comment publicly on the interaction.
Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Katy Perry and more win big at the 2024 Video Music Awards
History was made at the 2024 VMA’s last night with its electric performances, show stopping red carpet looks, and record breaking award wins. Host Megan Thee Stallion kicked off the show before taking home two awards herself for “Best Trending Video” and “Best Art Direction.” Performers Eminem, Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, LISA, Benson Boone, and Chappell Roan brought down the house and all went on to win awards of their own. Roan officially became the seventh consecutive woman to win “Best New Artist,” following in the footsteps of Cardi B, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, Dove Cameron, and Ice Spice. Taylor Swift wrapped up the night with her historical “Video of the Year” win, becoming the first artist in history to win the award 5 times and the first to win it in 3 consecutive years. She took home 7 total awards, 5 of which were in conjunction with “Fortnight” collaborator Post Malone, who came in second for most wins. With Swift’s 7 awards earned last night, she now ties Beyoncé as the most decorated artist in the show’s history.
Justin Timberlake accepts plea deal in DWI case
Nearly three months after his initial arrest, Justin Timberlake is expected to appear in court tomorrow where he will accept a new plea deal following his initial charge of driving while intoxicated. While the details of the deal have not been disclosed to the public, sources claim that the singer will plead guilty to a less serious offense than the original DWI charge in order to put the public saga behind him. Timberlake appeared in court virtually last month, where he pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge, and had his driving privileges temporarily suspended.
