Aerosmith’s Tom Hamilton rides Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster for last time before band is removed from the Disney’s Hollywood Studios ride
Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios to take a final ride on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster before the band's nearly three-decade residency ends. The 74-year-old musician was joined by his new band, Close Enemies, making the farewell ride an especially emotional moment. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster first opened on July 29, 1999, instantly becoming a park icon with its towering 40-foot-tall guitar marquee. Guests blast off in “super-stretch” limousines styled after a 1962 Cadillac, with each ride vehicle featuring a different Aerosmith track, including classics like “Walk This Way” and “Back in the Saddle,” along with a specially rewritten version of “Love in a Roller Coaster.” The experience is powered by a massive 32,000-watt sound system with 125 speakers. The Aerosmith-themed version of the coaster will officially close on March 1, 2026. Disney has announced the attraction will be reimagined as Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, featuring Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
