Sam Rivers, Limp Bizkit Bassist, dies at 48
The founding bassist of nu-metal pioneers Limp Bizkit passed away yesterday. Known for his powerful grooves and steady presence, Rivers was a core part of the band’s sound and success from the late '90s onward. Limp Bizkit shared an emotional tribute calling him “the heartbeat” of the group and “pure magic.” While the cause of death has not been publicly confirmed, Rivers had previously faced serious health challenges, including liver disease. He leaves behind a lasting legacy and will be missed among countless fans worldwide.

Crown jewels stolen from the Louvre
In a daring and highly orchestrated heist, like something out of a movie, four masked individuals used a ladder mounted on a vehicle to gain access to a second-story window. Armed with power tools, they cut through glass and display cases containing the French Crown Jewels. The entire operation lasted approximately seven minutes, during which the intruders reportedly intimidated guards using their tools. Eight pieces of 19th-century imperial jewelry were stolen, including diadems, necklaces, and brooches once worn by French royals such as Empress Eugénie and Empress Marie-Louise. One item, Empress Eugénie’s crown, was dropped during the escape and later recovered—though not without damage. The other eight pieces remain missing, and a largescale investigation is underway by French authorities.
