Stephen Colbert has revealed that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will end on May 21, marking the conclusion of the long-running Late Show franchise. Colbert shared the news during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on January 26. CBS confirmed it will retire The Late Show entirely rather than continue with a new host. The franchise began in 1993 when David Letterman moved from NBC to CBS and has run for more than three decades.
