Netflix strikes $83 billion deal to acquire Warner Bros. film and streaming assets
In a blockbuster new deal announced this morning, Netflix is set to purchase Warner Bros., including its film and television studios, HBO Max, and HBO. The streaming giant described the deal with a cash and stock transaction valued at $27.75 per Warner Bros. Discovery share, rounding out at approximately $82.7 billion. The acquisition comes after the previously announced separation of WBD’s Global Networks division, Discovery Global, into a new publicly-traded company.

Get ready to rock because Disney has officially dropped a first look at Camp Rock 3. The teaser features the Jonas Brothers as music group Connect 3 as they return to Camp Rock to seek out a new generation of talented musicians, singers, and songwriters. “Music. Friendship. Memories,” says Nick (Nate Grey), Joe Jonas (Shane Grey) adding, “We’re back. Exactly where we’re supposed to be.” The film is set to debut summer of 2026 on Disney+ and Disney Channel.

Mortal Kombat star Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa dies at 75
Best known for his roles in the Mortal Kombat films, Showdown in Little Tokyo, The Last Emperor, Memoirs of a Geisha, Johnny Tsunami, and The Man in the High Castle, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa’s career was nothing short of profound. The Japanese-born actor passed away on Thursday in Santa Barbara, surrounded by family, due to complications from a stroke, his manager Margie Weiner confirmed.
