Bridgerton renewed for season 5 and 6 ahead of season 4’s 2026 release
Renewal of the hit Netflix original series was announced by the streaming platform at an upfront presentation to advertisers yesterday, along with a first look at the show’s upcoming fourth season which is set to release in 2026. The exciting news comes almost exactly a year after season 3’s release on May 16, 2024, however while a fifth and sixth season have been confirmed, an exact release date for season 4 still remains a mystery. The series currently is set to adapt all eight books of Julia Quinn’s historical romance series of the same name. Plot details for season 5 and 6 have yet to be revealed.

Minnie Driver joins the cast of Emily in Paris season 5
With production kicking off this month on the fifth season of Netflix’s hit series Emily in Paris, exciting new casting details are being revealed. Actress Minnie Driver will be joining the all-star cast this season playing Princess Jane, a character described as “A friend of Sylvie’s,” played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, “who married into a royal family.” Driver, who has been sharing social media posts from Italy within the last week, took to Instagram shortly after the announcement was made by Variety to express her excitement for the role, writing “It’s why I’m in Rome!” Returning cast members for the new season include Lily Collins, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Lucien Laviscount, Eugenio Franceschini, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, and William Abadie.

Actor Joe Don Baker dies at 89
Best known for his role as Sheriff Buford Pusser in 1973’s Walking Tall, Joe Don Baker spent his decades-long career wowing audiences on both the screen and the stage. Prior to his time in Hollywood, the actor starred on Broadway in productions of Marathon ’33 and Blues for Mister Charlie. He later went on to appear in films such as Cool Hand Luke and The Valachi Papers, and series such as Honey West, Gunsmoke, The Big Valley, Mission: Impossible, and Lancer and The Streets of San Francisco. His big break came in 1973 playing the leading role in the beloved action/thriller Walking Tall. His passing, which occurred on May 7, was revealed in an obituary written by family members, saying “As we say goodbye to Joe Don, we hold onto the memories and the love he shared with us. Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will always remain, a guiding light in the lives he touched.” A cause of death has yet to be revealed.
