Ahead of Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, the festivities began with Golden Eve, where Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Mirren were celebrated for their extraordinary careers. The Sex and the City star received the Carol Burnett Award for outstanding achievement in television, presented by her husband of nearly 30 years, Matthew Broderick. Meanwhile, Mirren was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her legendary contributions to film, with the award presented by her 1923 co-star Harrison Ford, who himself received it in 2002. Golden Eve, a newly established, separate ceremony, took place Tuesday night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and aired last night. Both Parker and Mirren will also be recognized again during the big show this weekend.
