Oscar 2026 nominations announced as Sinners leads with record-setting 16 
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveiled the 98th Academy Awards nominations this morning in a global livestream from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Oscar-nominated actor Danielle Brooks and actor Lewis Pullman hosted the announcement event. Sinners dominated the field with a record-breaking 16 nominations, including Best Picture and a Best Actor nod for star Michael B. Jordan. One Battle After Another followed closely with 13 nominations, while Sentimental Value earned nine and Marty Supreme secured eight, with Timothée Chalamet emerging as a top Best Actor contender. The Academy Awards will take place in March at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, airing live on ABC and streaming on Hulu.

Def Leppard releases “Rejoice” ahead Las Vegas Residency that kicks off February 3
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Def Leppard return with a brand-new single, “Rejoice,” arriving just ahead of their highly anticipated Las Vegas residency. The new run follows the band’s massively successful, sold-out residencies in 2013 and 2019. Speaking about the fresh track, lead singer Joe Elliott explains, “I had this idea for a lyric where the narrator is at absolute rock bottom and wants to rise up to a higher level.” Fans can look forward to an all-new, electrifying live show, featuring the debut of “Rejoice” alongside classic hits from Def Leppard’s legendary catalog. Def Leppard: Live at Caesars Palace – The Las Vegas Residency runs through February 28 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Rachel McAdams receives star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Academy Award–nominated actress Rachel McAdams was honored this week with the 2,833rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She received the distinction in the Motion Pictures category, recognizing a celebrated career that spans beloved breakout roles in Mean Girls and The Notebook, to her Oscar-nominated performance in Spotlight. Throughout her career, McAdams has demonstrated remarkable range, depth, and a lasting impact on audiences worldwide. Most recently, McAdams made her Broadway debut in Mary Jane, written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Amy Herzog and directed by Anne Kauffman. She is currently starring in the film Send Help, releasing later this month, opposite Dylan O’Brien and directed by Sam Raimi. Raimi spoke at the star ceremony, alongside emcee Jenelle Riley and Domhnall Gleeson.

Legally Blonde prequel series Elle to premiere July 1 on Prime Video
Elle, the eagerly awaited Legally Blonde prequel series from Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios, will premiere on July 1, exclusively on Prime Video. Ahead of the series’ debut, Prime Video has also ordered a second season of Elle. Season one follows Elle Woods, portrayed by Lexi Minetree, during her high school years, exploring the formative experiences that shaped her into the confident, iconic young woman audiences first fell in love with in the original Legally Blonde film. The movie, starring Reese Witherspoon, was released 25 years ago in 2001.
