Saturday Night Live reveals host and performer lineup for season 50 kickoff, includes Ariana Grande, Stevie Nicks, Michael Keaton, Billie Eilish, John Mulaney and more
The show will debut its 50th anniversary season on September 28 with actress Jean Smart hosting alongside musical guest Jelly Roll. The following four weeks see comedian Nate Bargatze paired with Coldplay, Ariana Grande alongside Stevie Nicks, Michael Keaton with Billie Eilish, and John Mulaney featuring Chappell Roan, all as hosts and musical guests respectively. Smart, Jelly Roll, and Roan will make their SNL debuts in their appearances, while Nicks returns to studio 8H for the first time since her first and only performance in 1983.

Kylie Minogue makes dual announcement, revealing new album Tension II along with 2025 “Tension” world tour
The 56-year-old pop singer announced that the sequel to her 2023 album Tension will be released on October 18. The record will feature 13 new songs, the first of which will drop on September 27, and will include collaborations with Orville Peck, Bebe Rexha, Tove Lo, Sia, and DJ The Blessed Madonna. The announcement did not come on its own, as Minogue then revealed the news of her upcoming “Tension” world tour, which is currently set to make stops in Australia, Asia, and the United Kingdom. More dates are to be revealed at a later time.

Gwen Stefani to release new album Bouquet, her first record in 7 years
After a 7-year-long recording hiatus, Stefani is making her long awaited return to music with the upcoming release of her new album Bouquet. The singer made the announcement on her Instagram writing “My fifth studio album, ‘Bouquet’, will be in full bloom on November 15th.” This will be her first release since her 2017 holiday album You Make It Feel Like Christmas. Fans can expect to get their first taste of Stefani’s new music when the first single off the album “Somebody Else’s” drops September 20.

Songwriter JD Souther, best known for his work with the Eagles, dies at 78
The musical genius, who also worked with the likes of Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, and Bob Seger, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday. A cause of death has yet to be revealed. Souther’s legacy was cemented back in the 1970’s when he helped pioneer a new era of country-rock, collaborating on some of the Eagles biggest hits such as “Best of My Love,” “James Dean,” “Doolin-Dalton,” and “New Kid in Town.” He also maintained a successful solo career, earning major recognition from his 1979 solo hit “You’re Only Lonely.” Souther was later inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013, where his memory and craft are honored and will continue to be honored for years to come.
