A-list stars show out on the red carpet to support George Clooney’s Broadway debut in Good Night and Good Luck
A handful of celeb favorites gathered in New York City on Thursday to celebrate the opening night of Good Night and Good Luck, the new Broadway play led by megastar George Clooney. The play is based on the 2005 film of the same name, which Clooney wrote, directed, and starred in himself. However, this time, the 63-year-old actor is taking on a new role, playing American broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow. Stars from both the screen and stage made appearances on the red carpet before the show, including Jennifer Lopez, Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan, Jim Parsons, Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford, Julianna Margulies, and Kylie Minogue. Good Night and Good Luck is now playing at the Winter Garden Theatre through June 8, 2025.
Russell Brand charged with rape and sexual assault
The British comedian and actor has been charged with two counts of rape, indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault, according to Britain's Crown Prosecution Service, stating the charges “relate to reported non-recent offences between 1999 and 2005, involving four women.” The charges come following more than a year of investigation by authorities after Brand was first publicly accused in September 2023. Brand, who has repeatedly denied the allegations against him, is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 2.
