It’s been 20 years since Cruel Intentions came out in theaters and to celebrate, the cult classic will return to the big-screen. The film starring Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair earned $75 million at the box office back in 1999.
Based on the 1782 novel Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, the teen drama told the sordid story of conniving step-siblings, Sebastian (Phillippe) and Kathryn (Gellar) who attend an elite Manhattan prep school where the new headmaster’s daughter, Annette (Witherspoon) falls prey to a malicious bet the pair make.
