Florida is the hottest state in the country, literally. With an average annual temperature of 70.7°F, and known as The Sunshine State, no wonder it was the second-most visited stated by foreign travelers last year. In honor of National Florida Day on January 25th, here are some famous Floridians plus locations in the state to visit.

With the longest coastline in the contiguous United States, encompassing approximately 1,350 miles, Florida is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. Some of the best beaches to hit include Destin, Key Biscayne, Naples, Saint George Island, Siesta Key, St. Petersburg, and the Florida Keys, including Islamorada and Key West, the southernmost point in the continental United States. Other attractions include Kennedy Space Center, Everglades National Park, Daytona International Speedway, Miami Beach, and the Art Deco Historic District. Of course, there is Walt Disney World Resort. The vacation resort consists of four theme parks and more than 20 hotels in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
